Bachelor of Kinesiology and Sport Studies - University Transfer

Kinesiology is the study of the science of movement. The program is designed so that students can complete 2 years of studies in order to transfer to a university and then enter the work force or transfer to a university and complete a Bachelor's degree. The program is designed for students wishing to transfer to the University of Alberta.

Bachelor of Science, Nursing - collaboration with University of Alberta

Prepare to enter a dynamic and rapidly changing industry as a Registered Nurse and leader in health care. You will gain invaluable critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills through practicum placements in various health care settings.

Health Care Aide Certificate - Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Curriculum 2019

The Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Curriculum 2019 Certificate program at Red Deer Polytechnic prepares you to work as a Health Care Aide in hospitals, continuing care facilities, as well as in clients' homes.

Kinesiology & Sport Studies Diploma

Kinesiology is a diverse field involving the study of human movement from a variety of perspectives. You can choose to pursue either a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion or a University Transfer program that provides transfer opportunities to a university to complete a Bachelor’s degree.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Transition Program

This unique, accelerated pathway is designed for current Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) looking to enhance their knowledge and skills and to meet the admission requirements of entering Year 3 of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). Students in this non-credentialed program will develop professional communication, analytical, and problem solving skills, while learning about safe, ethical, competent and compassionate care. 
 

Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate

The Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate at Red Deer Polytechnic includes four major areas of study: phlebotomy, urinalysis, histology and microbiology. You will be trained to collect, process and prepare patient specimens, enter data, perform electrocardiograms and carry out basic laboratory procedures.

Occupational and Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide assistance to Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and clients in a variety of health care settings such as; hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, public and private clinics, mental health facilities, and home care programs.

Pharmacy Technician Diploma

The Pharmacy Technician Diploma at Red Deer Polytechnic is a nationally accredited program that prepares you to become a Registered Pharmacy Technician. You will gain valuable training through applied learning in classrooms, laboratories and practicum placements.

Practical Nurse Diploma

The Practical Nurse Diploma program at Red Deer Polytechnic prepares you to be an integral part of the health care system, providing high-quality nursing care across the lifespan. Our graduates are highly sought after and find employment in hospitals, continuing care agencies, community settings and other health-related areas.

Pre-Health Sciences Certificate

The Pre-Health Sciences Certificate program at Red Deer Polytechnic provides you an opportunity to examine the roles and responsibilities of a variety of health care professionals. You will explore Red Deer Polytechnic’s different health programs, build a strong knowledge base and receive advanced course credit.
