Network Administration Diploma
Overview
This comprehensive applied diploma program provides learners with the skills and knowledge to perform as a network administrator. Individuals fascinated by cloud computing and network security who want to be the go-to team member for desktop or server support will excel in this program. Graduates are prepared to enter and advance quickly in the Network Administrator field where they can move forward as an IT Technician, Network Administrator, Network Engineer, and Network Support.

Employability
As a graduate of the Network Administration program, you will be able to analyze the needs of an organization, install and maintain the necessary hardware and software to meet those needs, and solve any network or system-related problems that arise along the way. A network administrator's job can be broad or narrow depending on the organization, how many networks they have, and how complex their networks are. There are opportunities for both online-remote positions and positions that could be at a companies place of business.

Length:
16 months (two-year diploma accelerated – 4 terms)
Delivery Method:
This program is delivered over 50% face to face in person to meet International Learners Study Permit requirement to gain Post Graduate Work Permits. Face to face learning takes place at Red Deer Polytechnic's Downtown Campus. Domestic learners follow the same schedule as international learners.

Admission Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following entrance requirements for admission into the program:
- High school level diploma or an equivalent level institution worldwide
English Language Proficiency (ELP) Requirements: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 on each band score.

Digital Literacy
Candidates must possess knowledge of computer/technology tools to be successful in the program.

Program Materials:
All learners should budget approximately $800 per year for classroom resources (including online textbooks and resources). Details on how to purchase and access the required online resources will be given on the first day of class. Learners are not required to purchase resources ahead of time.
Hardware Requirements
Learners with a laptop are required to the following minimum specifications:
- Laptop with 15.6 inches screen size
- Intel i5 processor (Latest 12 Generation) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- RAM 8 GB, preferred 16GB
- Integrated Graphics Card
- SSD 500GB, preferred 1TB
- WiFi and LAN
Program Completion Requirements:
Completion/submission of all assignments and projects is required. A 65% average or better in each course is required.

Submit the completed application form and all required supporting documents to the Division of Extended Education by email at extended [dot] ed [at] rdpolytech [dot] ca (extended[dot]ed[at]rdpolytech[dot]ca).

Once your documents have been reviewed, you will be contacted by Red Deer Polytechnic to pay the non-refundable application fee ($120 for domestic students or $150 for international students).

Once your application is approved, you will be contacted with a conditional acceptance letter and further information on how to pay for you full program tuition.
