New Student Orientation

Join us on January 4, 2022 for a virtual New Student Orientation and learn all the in’s and out’s of Red Deer Polytechnic and campus life.

New Student Orientation will:

  • Welcome you to Red Deer Polytechnic
  • Connect you with new and continuing students, creating a network of new friends
  • Virtually familiarize you with the campus
  • Provide you with information about campus services and resources, where to find them and how they can help you
  • Encourage student experiences and student life outside of the classroom

What to Do and What to Know for Your First Week

  • Pay fees and tuition
  • Parking at RDP is limited and purchased on a first-come-first-serve basis - apply for parking
  • Log into TheLoop - your RDP student portal
  • Get your lockers, purchase used books and transit passes, learn about your student health and dental plan and other services offered by your Students' Association
  • Buy textbooks, course materials and additional supplies - visit the Campus Store in person on RDP's main campus or avoid line-ups and order your textbooks online
  • Get your iCard - your multi-purpose student ID card
  • Check important dates from the academic schedule
  • Get connected to RDP's student services to learn more about the many services that are available to assist you throughout your entire time as a student at the Polytechnic

General Information Sessions

Are you interested in attending Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP)? Not sure where to start? Let us explore what your educational journey could look like at RDP through an interactive General Information Session. We'll discuss Red Deer Polytechnic's program offerings, the application process and answer any questions you may have.

Student for a Day

Want to know what life is really like at Red Deer Polytechnic? Spend a day here and see for yourself! Student for a Day provides those who are considering furthering their education at Red Deer Polytechnic the opportunity to experience what life is really like as a college student.

You will attend and participate in classes, tour our fantastic facilities, interact with current students, meet our instructors and learn about our admission requirements, student life, scholarships and much more! Student for a Day is FREE to attend and we even provide lunch!

Red Hot Science Workshops

Red Hot Science workshops at Red Deer Polytechnic provide a variety of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) experiences for youth groups and school groups in central Alberta.

Red Deer Polytechnic students can volunteer to help lead Red Hot Science activities, too.
