Recipients of Community Awards
Each year at Red Deer Polytecnic's Community Awards, we honour deserving individuals and community partners who have provided meaningful contributions to our learners and communities. This celebratory event provides an opportunity for community members, alumni and distinguished guests to connect with one another, and to celebrate the year's honourees.
The 2022 Community Awards celebration was held on October 21, 2022, as a part of Homecoming weekend. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event had not been held since 2019. In 2022, we celebrated a number of recipients for a number of years, including the following deserving individuals and one community partner.
- Morris Flewwelling was recognized as the 2020 recipient of the G.H. Dawe Memorial Award of Excellence.
- Ron Woodward was recognized as the 2021 recipient of the G.H. Dawe Memorial Award of Excellence.
- Gary W. Harris was posthumously presented with the 2021 Alumni Legacy Award.
- Cory Kaun received the 2021 Distinguished Alumnus Award for
- Chris Rolida received the 2020 Distinguished Alumnus Award for
- Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre received the 2020 Community Partners Award.
