Biography

Jodi-Lynn Jackson (she/her) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Jodi-Lynn completed her undergraduate education at the University of Alberta, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology. From there, she went on to work with youth experiencing houselessness in Calgary, promoting harm-reduction and a housing-first framework. In 2019, Jodi-Lynn began working at Olds College within the Accessibility department, supporting students to remove barriers in the learning environment and advocating for an equitable approach to teaching and learning, while also completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.  

Following graduation in 2021, Jodi-Lynn found her passion working at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton as a therapist supporting survivors of sexual violence. She later found herself returning to Red Deer Polytechnic, where she had done her practicum, for a contract counsellor position.  

Jodi-Lynn’s main areas of interest include working with body acceptance and intuitive eating, trauma, and self-concept. Her main therapeutic modalities include emotion-focused therapy, somatic experiencing, and narrative therapy. Also, Jodi-Lynn strives to create an inclusive and safe therapeutic environment by incorporating expressive arts into her practice.
