Biography

Dr. Marcovitch is a specialist in the Victorian fin de siecle (1880-1910) with a particular emphasis on Oscar Wilde, drama, decadence, children's literature and New Woman (feminist) writers. She is the author of A Companion to Oscar Wilde's Writings and The Art of the Pose: Oscar Wilde's Performance Theory.

She also has written scholarly essays on New Woman author George Egerton, poet Arthur Symons and feminist writer and editor Ella D'Arcy. She is co-editor of two volumes on television studies. She has also recently written on socialist themes in Oscar Wilde's fairy tales and on Jewish comic writer Ada Leverson.  

As of 2023, she is the President of the Victorian Studies Association of Western Canada. She is also the Faculty Editor of Agora, the RDP Undergraduate journal.
