Board of Governors Member

Biography

Emeka Nwachukwu was born and spent his early years in Nigeria before arriving in Canada in 2011 from Scotland. As a senior project manager with multi-industry experience in three continents, Emeka works with organizations to address business challenges by providing unique technology solutions.

Emeka lives in Red Deer with his wife, Jennifer and four young children in beautiful central Alberta, within reach of the prairies, lakes, and mountains.

Emeka is passionate about community engagement, poverty and hunger eradication, food security, and children education. As a child growing up in Nigeria, Emeka realized that the only way to escape poverty was to study and get good grades in school. But beyond the school walls, in the village of Mbaise in southeast Nigeria where he grew up, Emeka knew first-hand what is meant by the African expression “it takes a village to raise a child” because the community was very much involved in instilling morals into young children as well as in lending money to parents in need of paying school fees for their children.

In addition to his role on the board of RDP, Emeka is a volunteer at the Red Deer Mustard Seed and a member of the Parish Council of St. Leonard-On-The-Hill Anglican Church in Red Deer.
